The retaliatory measures reportedly included putting U.S. airline Boeing on the list of additional tariffs.

Citing multiple sources, the British daily Financial Times (FT) reported on the 7th (local time) that the EU has put US airline company Boeing on the list of tariffs in its newly prepared retaliatory measures against the US.

Aerospace-related products produced by Boeing are one of the main U.S. exports to the EU. According to Eurostat, the EU imported 18.3 billion euros (about 29 trillion won) worth of aircraft and spacecraft and related parts from the United States last year.

If the EU imposes tariffs on Boeing aircraft, the price of aircraft will rise significantly, which will put a brake on European airlines from acquiring Boeing aircraft, Reuters said.

Some European airlines have already said they could delay deliveries of Boeing aircraft if tariffs are imposed on them. Michael O'Leary, CEO of low-cost carrier Ryanair, one of Boeing's major customers in Europe, said last month that if tariffs cost more to deliver the aircraft, it would be postponed. Ryanair will take over 25 Boeing aircraft from August.
